Bad Promotion Emails from Expedia

These "deal" emails from Expedia are soo worthless to me.  Why do I care that a flight from Indianapolis to Orlando is $88?  It's not like they don't know where I book flights out of...  If anything, it just pisses me off when I see that all the Boston based city pairs cost more.

A recent consumer promotion study showed that over 2/3 of consumers would be more inclined to spend because of a promotion if it were more targeted for the things they regularly buy.  This Expedia junk is the polar opposite and way off the mark.

Who has utility for this type of promo?  They obviously think someone does, since they come out almost once per week.
